The Pearls by Margriet
Goldsmith Margriet Cuijpers first fell in love with pearls, which led to her first own collection: io sieraden. This line reflects a Modern Classic style. Materials mostly used are silver, gold, many gemstones, vintage cameo’s, pearls and of course, her favorite, diamonds. She still makes many pearl-focused jewelry, as the beauty of pearls is in their uniqueness, flexibility and timelessness.
All Natural Diamonds
Traditionally, only the most transparent diamonds are cut into gemstones and set in jewelry. A true shame, Margriet thought, as there are countless beautiful diamonds of the wildest of colours and shapes. She wanted to show the world the beauty of these natural diamonds. In 2017, After 33 years of goldsmithing, Margriet Cuijpers started cutting diamonds herself. She could finally decide for herself which diamonds to use and how to use them.
This new adventure led to her current brand: All Natural Diamonds by Margriet. She cuts and processes all types, sizes, colors and shapes of the diamond and she expertly fixes the stones in every piece of jewelry using microscopic setting technique. Craftsmanship and creativity go together, the result is unique, contemporary and valuable jewelry.
Her goal? To show the beauty of all stones in her jewelry.
About Margriet Cuijpers: a unique combination of professions
Margriet Cuijpers is one of the leading goldsmiths in Amsterdam. Finishing the professional goldsmith education at the Vakschool Schoonhoven in 1984, she has over 35 years of professional experience designing and constructing the highest quality of jewelry. In her early years and internship, she has specialised as stonesetter: the art of securing gemstones into a piece of jewelry. She is able to set the most intricate and detailed settings at a microscopic level.
With her specialisation as stonesetter, it is not surprising that she has always been bewildered by diamonds and stones. Already during her years in the professional goldsmith education, she was in love with diamonds. Margriet’s love for diamonds became a passion when she started to study the skill of cutting diamonds in 2017. After finishing her study of diamond cutting, she was accepted as a member of the oldest diamond bourse in the world, the Amsterdam Diamond Bourse, hallmarking her position as one of the few goldsmiths in The Netherlands with an elaborate knowledge and skill in both diamond cutting and goldsmithing. You find this skill in all her jewelry: she is able to set the wildest of shapes of rough and refined stones and diamonds, leading to unique shapes and forms of jewelry.
She is now working under the name “All Natural Diamonds by Margriet“. Her collection is eclectic and innovative. The jewelry she makes show her vision in life. She wants to accept and honour life, doing this with love and pleasure. Working on details, she is not afraid to explore artistic areas. Beauty lies in imperfection, and freedom and joy are fundamentals in her life that she brings to life in her jewelry.
